The Davie Cooper Memorial Open Singles took place in the Kirkwall Masonic Club on Saturday, with the annual event a great success, attracting 51 entries, and raising £1300 which will be split between Kirkwall RNLI and the Fishermen's Mission.
Organised by the KDDL in memory of the former league player and league singles champion, the day saw the main darts competition being held, as well as various fundraising games and a big raffle, with the organisers very grateful to all who donated prizes and gave and spent so generously. Thanks also to the staff at the Masonic Club.
In the quarter finals Jamie Drever saw off Craig Taylor, while Robbie Stanger beat Josh Alexander. Meanwhile Erlend Ritch got the better of Robbie Norquoy, with Stevie Linklater beating David Scott. Robbie then beat Jamie in the first semi, with Erlend winning against Stevie.
The final between Robbie and Erlend saw Robbie in particular playing some fantastic TV standard darts, scoring an 11 dart leg and hitting a 180, before running out the winner 4-2.
In total £1205 was raised, which will be made up to £1300 and split between the two charities.
