Sanday stay top
In the Williamson’s A League, the Untouchables closed the gap on the
Legion, who had a week off, to three points, but they have played a game
more, but they picked up a lot of games after beating Wanderers B 11-1.
Legion, who had a week off, to three points, but they have played a game
more, but they picked up a lot of games after beating Wanderers B 11-1.
The Wanderers are now well clear in third place, after beating Untouchables
A 7-5. The Commodore also scored a 11-1 success over Quoyburray B.
Meadowbank have moved up into fifth place after their 8-4 defeat of RBL2 who
need to win all their remaining games to avoid the drop and wooden spoon.
There was a good point for Quoyburray, holding the Golf Club to a six-all
draw.
There is no change at the top of the Williamson’s B League as the top two
both won. Sanday stay two points ahead after defeating the Bilco Boys 11-1
and that increased their games difference over the Fanooks who had a 8-4 win
over the Sands and only the top two can now share the first two places and
games are running out. Sanday have three to play, but the Fanooks have only
two to play. Shore 2 are in third place and beat Sands 2 8-4, which more
or less assures the wooden spoon for Burray. The other Shore team crashed to
a 10-2 defeat out in Tankerness and Deerness are going great guns with a 9-4
win over the Likely Lads.
There were 180s from Wayne Monkman, Brian Moar, David Kirkpatrick, Alan
Gray, Derek Ward snr, Graham Louttit, Brian Stevenson, Ian Wilkie, Robbie
Stanger, Colin Ross, Andrew Rendall, Ross Donaldson, Michael Moodie and two
from Bruce Moar, Keith Brumpton, Willie Bremner and Ali Flett.
