All the one-day shows are over, so it’s time now to concentrate on the show that lasts until April, 2012 – that’s the new season of the Kirkwall District Darts League.
The AGM takes place in the Legion Club, at 8 p.m. this Thursday, August 18th. A good turn-out is hoped for, and all team captains are requested to attend.
At present, 20 registration books are out, but not all have been returned to the secretary. 8 p.m. on AGM night is the deadline.
Four of last year’s teams have failed to re-register. They are Fanooks, RBL2, Sands and Sands 2. However there’s a return for RBLM and Shapinsay, so it looks as if it will be two leagues of ten team, but this will be sorted out at the AGM. There is also still time to put your name forward for committee duties.
Only a few days to go now until the big one – the Orkney Darts Classic, due to be held at Picky, on Saturday, where eight of Orkney’s top players put their skills on the line, or oche, against eight of the top professionals.
There’s also a big raffle, on behalf of the K-DDL. Tickets will be on sale on the day.
