County games this week
All eyes will be pointing north as the teams travel up to Shetland this week for the annual Inter League/County matches.
The ladies play Thursday, and the gents Friday night. Both games are in the Lerwick Legion.
There is not much happening on the domestic front, but next Friday, 27th, it‘s the darts presentation night in the Masonic Club at 8 p.m.
It is a chance for the players to pick up their winnings for the season and have a get together. Tickets are on sale from Jim Scollie, Linda Harcus and Kairds in Albert Street, Kirkwall.
The gents AGM is booked for Thursday, August 16, in the Legion Club, at 8 p.m.
New registration books are available from the secretary from April 27, at the “do”.
Names are also required for players willing to stand for committee. Names to the secretary.
It is charity time, and it starts on Friday, May 4, with ladies’ and gents’ doubles being played in the Masonic. Names by 7.30 p.m.
It is open, so any player can enter, but must enter with a partner.
Then, it’s on to the very popular Tattie Bogle Mixed Doubles in the Legion on Friday, May 11. There is usually a raffle the same night.
There will be a committee meeting on Wednesday, May 2, in the Masonic, at 8 p.m.
