The new season gets under way on Saturday with the Second Orkney Darts Classic being held at the Picky Centre, where eight of the top players in Orkney will test their skills against eight of the top PDC players. We wish them the best of luck.
The domestic scene then gets under way on Monday, September 10, with the Allied Hotels Cup for ‘A’-registered players. It is for teams of three, and it is in the Legion Club. Then, on Tuesday, September 11, it is the ‘B’ boys turn, with the St Ola Cup. It is for teams of four players, and is being played in the Masonic Club. Names by 7.30 p.m., and, remember, reserves can be played in all cup games.
Both leagues will get under way on the week commencing September 24, and note that the Commodores will be using the Royal Bar in the Orkney Hotel as their home ground and Meadowbank will be playing out of the Auld Motor Hoose.
League entry fees are the same as last year, and can be paid any time in the next month to the treasurer Davie Henderson or secretary Jim Scollie.
Williamson Butcher have again agreed to sponsor the leagues. Thanks once again go to Ally Flett for his support once.
