Only two games into the new season and just four teams have full points, with three teams still to get points.
Leading the way are the Legion, but they struggled a bit against RBLM, before coming out 8-4 winners.
Also up there are Sanday, after a great 9-3 defeat of the Untouchables ‘A’. The other Untouchables team got their season under way with a 9-3 defeat of Meadowbank, who have still to get a point.
The Wanderers also have full points, after beating the Commodores 8-4, and the battle out at Quoyburray was won by the ‘B’ team 8-4.
In the Williamsons ‘B’ League, the Murray Arms are on top with full points after a 9-3 defeat of Deerness.
Shapinsay also have full points after a narrow 7-5 win over Tankerness, and going strong are the Likely Lads who were 7-5 winners over new boys the Nomads, and a first win for the Legion Arrows — 7-5 over the Bilco Boys. Also, the Shore took the full points, and top score with a 10-2 win over the Sands. No score from the Shore v Sands ‘2’ game.
Score cards must be in the Legion Club by noon on Saturday.
Another good week for 180s, with 180’s being scored by Sean Stanger, Robbie Stanger, Billy Eunson, Hamish Baillie, Michael Moodie, Michael Muir Jnr, Gary Brown, Brian Murray, Ray Butcher, and two from Ivan Leslie, Michael Montgomery, Ian Wilkie, and Kevin Gray hitting three — that’s seven for Kevin in two games!
High checkouts: 100 from Robbie Stanger; 107 Trevor Shearer; 114 Colin Barnett and Des Gillespie; and 122 from Kevin Gray, and I understand, nearly a nine-darter.
