Pit stop cup win for Kevin

There was a very good entry for the Pit Stop Cup as 44 players came forward for the second of the ranking points events.Twenty-three ‘A’ players and 21 ‘B’ players took part.

Some of the top players were missing but the standard of the darts was of the highest quality and by the time the points came into play, 4 ‘B’ players and 12 ‘A’ players were still playing.

Only one ‘B’ player made the quarter final however, and once again the semi-final line up could have been hand picked with Kevin Gray beating Ivan Leslie in the first game and Neil Croy overcoming Ian Linklater in the other semi. This made it an all Legion final which Kevin took 4-1.

Ranking points: Jim Brown, 14 points; Stevie Linklater, 12; Kevin Gray, 12; Neil Croy, 12; Billy Ward, 10; Gary Wilson, 7; Robbie Stanger, 7; Ian Linklater, 7; Ivan Leslie, 7; Paul Firth, 6.Another 18 players have points ranging from 5 to 3. The next ranking event is the Jim Scollie Masters on November 21.

There’s no change at the top of Williamsons ‘A’ League with the Golf Club still top on game difference after a narrow 7-5 win over Untouchables.

The Commodores closed the gap to only two games with a 11-1 defeat of Quoyburray. Sanday are only a point behind with a game in hand after their 7-5 win over Untouchables ‘A’. The Legion are not too far behind also. With a game in hand they beat Wanderers 8-4.

There was also a good 8-4 win for RBLM over the Nomads and a first win for Sands ‘2’ by beating Quoyburray ‘B’ 7-5, which leaves the Quoyburray boys the only team in the ‘A’ League without a win.

There’s also no change at the top of the Williamsons ‘B’ League with St Ola on full points after beating the Motorhoose 10-2, who also lost 7-5 to the Masonic, but they went down 8-4 to the Legion Arrows.

Murray Arms kept up the pressure at the top with a great 8-4 defeat of Shapinsay who are now nine points off the top. Muppets had no luck against Tankerness and lost out 9-3.
