An exciting week in the KDDL season saw the top two teams in both the A and B leagues clash and now there are new leaders in each.
In the A league the Legion beat the golf club to go top on game difference, with Wayne Monkman playing some terrific darts on the night by all reports.
Keeping it tight at the top are third placed Commodores who now sit just one point behind the top two following a narrow 7-5 win over Sanday. Leigh Shearer took the deciding game and keeps his team in the hunt, ready to pounce should the Legion and Golf club falter.
Wanderers move up to 4th place following a very tough visit to the bottom placed Quoyburray team who seem determined to avoid the drop. With Davy Henderson in terrific form, the visitors felt lucky to walk away with an 8-4 win.
Meanwhile in Burray the Sands 2 did well to take 4 games off the impressive Untouchables A team, with Ryan Tulloch notching up another 2 singles wins as he continues an excellent run of form in the second half of the season.
Taking a huge leap away from the drop zone were the Quoyburray B team who seem to have hit form at just the right time. Graham Reid took the decisive game as they ran out 7-5 winners away to the RBLM.
With 4 games to go things are starting to look bleak for the young Nomads boys sitting second bottom who crashed 11-1 to mid-table Untouchables. They are now 4 points adrift from safety but there is still time to mount a comeback.
There are now only 3 games to go in the B league and the Legion Arrows have taken pole position after an excellent 7-5 win for Cammy Scott’s boys over previous leaders St.Ola. Kenny Gillespie sealed the win for them early in the second half.
The shore move into 3rd spot after a 10-2 victory over bottom placed Muppets coupled with the Murray Arms drawing with the Masonic.
The Motorhoose and Tankerness both recorded 8-4 wins over the Bilco Boys and Shapinsay respectively, moving clear of the bottom group of teams in the process.
Only 1 point now separates the bottom 4 teams as the race to avoid the wooden spoon heats up.
