The KDDL Committee have now confirmed the dates and format for the qualifying competitions to select the line-up to play in the Orkney Masters with the professionals on August 29.

There will be three qualifiers, with the winner and runner-up automatically qualifying. There will then be a play-off each night between the two losing semi-finalists to select the third qualifier each night.

As there are seven professionals coming to Orkney, the last winner of the last semi-finalist play-off will join the professionals side of the draw, to make it 8 v 8 on the day.

The qualifiers take place on Saturday May 16: Kirkwall Masonic, Friday May 22: Kirkwall Legion and Friday May 29: Royal Hotel, Stromness. Names in by 7.30pm.
