It's the big day on Saturday when seven professionals visit Orkney to take on seven of the top Kirkwall players in the Pickquoy Centre, kicking off at 1pm. Scott Mitchell the current BDO World Champion will be leading the way. (Full details in the article below)
That is followed next Saturday with the first local competition the Shapinsay Open. Out in Shapinsay the open will start as soon as the 11.30am boat gets in or very shortly afterwards. It's a ladies and gents singles event with good prizes and the boat back will be leaving Shapinsay at 8pm and not 7.15pm as usual.
It's the first of the domestic cups on Monday, September 7, and it's for 'B' league registered teams. That's followed by the Allied Hotels cup for 'A' registered teams on Friday, September 11, in the Legion and the 'B' cup is in the Masonic - both with a 7.30pm start.
The next committee meeting is on Wednesday, September 16 in the Masonic at 8pm. Teams to play Caithness on the October 3, will be selected on the night.
