The 9th Orkney Rock Festival will be held on the 6th to 8th September 2024 and applications for visiting acts are now invited!
Visiting acts to the main event must have original material in order to be considered.

Closing date for applications is the 17th December 2023 and considerations and selection will be made in January.
A separate announcement for local artists to play the main event will be made at a later date along with invitations of interest for performers to play pub gigs over the weekend of 6th to 8th of September 2024.
Please note Orkney Live Wire and the Orkney Rock Festival are run by volunteers who also have day jobs and as such email and social media messenger services are not manned constantly- bear with us and we will get back to you when we can!

Orkney Rock Festival 2023- full programme
Kicking off with Dead Right's debut gig on Thursday 31st August in the Torv, right through to Razormouth launching their new record (we're old school) and closing the festival on the 3rd September, we have a packed schedule for you, of free pub gigs and the ticketed Main Event showcasing visiting (and local) bands playing their own original music on Saturday.

Bring cash, you can always get rid of it in our collection buckets.

Orkney Live Wire is a group of music enthusiasts who aim to promote and support live music in and around the county.
Orkney Live Wire rallied together in the summer of 2014 to organise Orkney's first Rock Festival, held in early Sept 2014- the festival was a massive success showcasing local artists and along with visiting acts from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Shetland and inspired the organisers to continue in their promotion of live music throughout the Orkney Islands.
Upcoming events
As well as the Festival. Orkney Live Wire promotes gigs throughout the year, notably on County Show night, at Halloween, the New Year, and other times the fancy takes us. Keep an eye on our News and Events pages for what is coming up.
PA Hire
Any profits are wholly reinvested in encouraging live music in Orkney. We've invested in a PA, drum kit, and bass and guitar cabs to make it easier to organise gigs and attract visiting bands.
