ART GROUP MAY 2012

by Gloria O'Shea - 16:50 on 18 May 2012

1st May

The Tuesday  we met at the Standing Stones of Stenness turned out to be one of those exquisite Orkney days , blissful unforgetable sunshine with no wind.  It was a lovely morning!

We walked to the bird hide  - very good for a rainy day.  It is all worth revisiting!

15th May

What a terrible morning rain and wind with snatches of sun.  With new member Ann Gray, 5 of us set out plus cheerful  scamp Jack the dog.  With difficulty we squeezed through the gate leading to Binscarth Woods,

Once walking in the woods we seemed suddenly to lose  the uncomfortable wind and we became aware of  the calming presence of the sun  and some way into the woods there was the wonderful sight of  bluebells. A marvellous gift to the painter.

We had entered a never never land.  So there unpredictably was another good day
