Birdie Outing to Hunda Wed 17 July

by Ken O'Connor - 18:33 on 17 July 2013

Thanks to all who were on the trip to Hunda today. It all worked out with good sightings of quite a number of birds  and chicks, even to aerial tern and Arctic Skua displays of trying to get the terns to drop their catch, sometimes successful others not so. The colony of great back gulls was in full voice to make sure we just kept going and not to be disturbed .  All the other  normal suspects were about including a kestrel looking for a vole and some Wagtails and ringed Plover on the shore with their chicks among the rocks.

Weather stayed fine for us which was another bonus.

There will not be any outing in August , so the next outing will be on the 18th September where Dave W. will be leader showing us some of his birdie haunts in the south parish.

Have a good Summer break and if you have not paid your membership please see or phone Allan W to arrange payment as you are not covered on  any outings if no membership fees paid.

Ken
