Birdie Group - March 2016

by Allan Way - 19:52 on 16 March 2016

Ten of us showed up for a walk from the Bu to Swanbister Pier in Orphir.  It was an unbelievably nice day.  We saw at least one of all the following birds.

pied wagtail, rock dove, oystercatcher, redshank, tystie, long tail duck, widgen, snipe, eider, golden eye, shag, skylark, greater blackback gull, great northern diver, herring gull, fulmar, little auk, grebe, puffin, heron, lapwing, shelduck, mallard, turnstone, graylag, wader, golden plover, merganser, godwit, curlew, stonechat, starling, lark.

A fine day out.

Allan

With a note also from Ken:

The next outing will be the Inverness trip for those that have showed an interest in going. But for those who are remaining in Orkney if someone would like to do a walk on Wed 20th April then I am happy about it.

Ken
