The U3A Scrabble Group---
Continues to meet Friday mornings-in the Kirkwall Town Hall at 10 a m -
A New Year project is to have Rummitub as an alternative-we have one ot two experts in the group-the rest are more or less beginners-
We do make a note of new words-( new to some of us)
and here is a selection of them-
Stope-step like excavation
Cate -delicacy
Bizes -dry cold wind
Noil-short or knotted fibres
Trat-type of fishing line
Kinin-type of polypeptideConge-permission to depart
Oba-Yorba chief

Boi -a lesbian who dresses like a boy

Haboob-sand storm
Our numbers remain stable-we usually have three tables of 4 people-
There is always room for more!
I should mention that ,although we meet weekly-not every one comes each week-
We just " turn Up"!
