U3A Photo Group One - June 2018

by Nirit Leonard - 20:10 on 21 June 2018

Nine of us were lucky with the weather on 20th June. We met in the pouring rain outside The Kirk Café, next to Sheila Fleet’s studio in Tankerness, squeezed into three cars, and drove to a sunny Rerwick Head.

The field was safe with only a few calves in there, which made a nice addition to what Rerwick Head has to offer – great views, lovely shore and cliffs, vegetation, birds, old buildings from the Second World War – and rust of course; something for everybody’s taste, I believe and enough to keep us all busy for an hour.

Clicking over for the day, we headed back to the lovely Kirk Café for tea, coffee and refreshment – thank you very much, Sheila – and shared our photos from the visit to Westray. There were lovely photos of puffins and other wildlife, delightful views, old buildings and ruins, and beautiful beaches. Then theme ‘Sea and sand’ provided more delights, with sea and sand, just sea, or just sand, depending on our different interpretations ðŸ˜‰

We’ll see you all on 25th July at the Fourth Barrier car park, heading for Honeysgeo, with Steve leading the way. The photo theme for July will be ‘Reflection’.

Enjoy the summer and keep clicking, Nirit Leonard.
