U3A Walking Group - March 2020

by Tim Wright - 20:15 on 05 March 2020

Seven people turned up at Warbeth Cemetery this morning on a sunny but slightly frosty morning .The wind was light but with quite a bite to it .First we walked to Warbeth Beach although there is little sand there at present .Then along the cliffs to Ness Point stopping occasionally to check on Birds quickly as this was not an official Bird walk .A quick stop for a rest on the benches at Ness House to catch our wind before the only hill of the day up to the Battery View point .And what a lovely view it was too with the Hills of Hoy having a hint of snow on top and Graemsay in all it's glory .Then down hill all the way back to the cars via the short cut at the Cemetery . Then it was off to Eli's for lunch .All in all a lovely way to spend a March morning after all the rain and gales of February .

The next meeting will be Friday 17 th April ,a little later than usual as I am away on holiday in early April .

Keep Moving ,

Tim
