Frozen Food Centre Snipe Shopping Week Challenge Trophy

A week earlier than normal, the Frozen Food Centre Snipe Shopping Week Challenge Trophy was competed for at Stromness on Thursday, 15 July.  Five Snipes from Stromness and three Snipes from Holm took part as individuals, with the cumulative results from three races to count.  The wind was changeable in both direction and strength so three different courses were sailed.

The racing was very competitive and after the three races Skeldro (Mark Taylor & Callum Miller) were tied on 5 points with last year’s winner, Moonstone (Andrew Leslie & Josh Brown), despite Mark having ditched his crew overboard at the last mark of the last race and having to haul him back on board.  On countback, the win went to Skeldro who had achieved two first places to Moonstone’s one.  Many thanks to everyone who took part and especially to those who came through from Holm.
