Boys Brigade

1st Dounby Boys Brigade meet in the Dounby Centre on Tuesday evenings from October to April.

Anchor Boys for boys in P1 - P3 meet from 6 - 7pm
Junior Section for boys in P4 - P6 meet from 7 - 8.30pm
Company Section for boys in P7 - S3 meet from 8 - 10pm

We follow the Boys Brigade Programme and do a wide range of activities including games, crafts, bible stories and studies, marching and drill to gain our badges which are awarded at a service in the church in March. We take part in competitions with other BB Companies in the Orkney Battalion and attend the annual Battalion Parade.

As part of our badge work is “community” we help with Bag the Bruck and provide a Christmas Post service in the parishes. Our Company usually has between 35 and 40 boys enrolled each year, new members are always welcome.
